General FAQs

Answer: Accountail is AI-powered web software designed for accountants and auditors who need to create accounting reports and analyses from in-house or client business data. It helps turn financial statements, ledgers, schedules, and supporting documents into specialized reports such as financial analysis, variance analysis, analytical reviews, and audit support reports.

Answer: Choose the report type you need, upload the required and optional documents in supported file formats, and Accountail analyzes the data to generate a report you can review, edit, and use for decision-making, client work, or compliance support.

Answer: Accountail is built for accountants, auditors, accounting firms, finance teams, controllers, CFO advisors, and professionals who prepare reporting from client or internal financial data.

Answer: Accountail uses passwordless email sign-in. Enter your email address on the Accountail web app, open the sign-in link sent to that same email address, and finish signing in from the browser. If the sign-in page asks for your email again, enter the same email address that received the link.

Answer: Yes. Accountail is a browser-based web app available at app.accountail.com. You do not need to install a native desktop, iOS, or Android app to use Accountail. A desktop or laptop browser is usually best for uploading accounting files and reviewing detailed reports.

Answer: Request a fresh sign-in link, check your spam or junk folder, and make sure you are using the newest link for the same email address that requested it. If you opened the link on a different browser or device and Accountail asks for your email, re-enter the exact email address that received the link.

Answer: Yes. The plan owner can add team member email addresses from Settings. Team members sign in with their own email address and share the owner's monthly report allowance. Billing is managed by the plan owner, and team members should be removed from Settings when they no longer need access.

Answer: Settings lets you update your account name, view your sign-in email, switch appearance between system, light, and dark mode, manage team members, review your plan allowance and renewal date, open billing if you are the plan owner, delete reports history, and delete your account.

Reports & Output FAQs

Answer: Accountail supports 133 accounting, audit, tax, payroll, financial statement, CFO advisory, and engagement support report types. The full public catalog is organized by workflow on the Accountail Report Types page.

Each report page explains the report purpose, typical source files, common sections, and professional review expectations.

Answer: You can view AI-generated accounting reports in the Accountail web app, download reports as Microsoft Word .docx files, copy selected report sections, or copy a whole report to your clipboard.

Answer: You can generate reports based on the monthly report allowance included in your subscription plan. Each new generated report counts toward your plan quota. The one permitted rerun for the same report is handled separately, and you can change your plan if you need a different monthly report allowance.

Answer: Accountail lets you request a regeneration with minor notes or revisions once per report at no extra cost. The revision flow is intended for refinements to the same report, not for creating a different report type from the same request.

Answer: From Home, search or browse the report types, choose the report you need, add a report title, upload each required file, and add optional files or details when they are useful. The generate button becomes available after the required files are uploaded and processed.

Answer: Each report type tells you which files are required and which are optional. Required files must be uploaded before report generation. Optional files, notes, company details, accounting standards, stakeholders, strategic goals, and report purpose can improve the result when they are relevant to the report.

Answer: Open History in the Accountail app to view previous reports. You can search reports by title, report type, description, or generated date. Selecting a history item opens the report page where you can review the report, download it, copy it, rerun it when eligible, delete it, or leave feedback.

Answer: Yes. Report tables are shown inside the report page. When a table is available, Accountail provides table actions so you can open the table in a focused viewer and download that table as a CSV file for spreadsheet review.

Answer: Yes. You can delete an individual report from the report page or delete all previous reports from Settings. Report deletion is intended to remove the report record and its stored input and output files, so review carefully before confirming.

Answer: Open the generated report and use the feedback link below the report content. Include a short title and a clear description of what needs improvement. Accountail includes the report ID and report type with that feedback so the team can review the right report.

Files, Security & Review FAQs

Answer: Accountail supports several file formats, including .txt, .csv, .md, .json, .html, .htm, .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .odp, .odt, .ods, .ofx, .xml, .xsl, .xslt, .xsd, and .wsdl. Each uploaded file must be smaller than 50MB.

Answer: Yes. Accountail is designed to handle sensitive financial data confidentially. Your uploaded files and generated reports are visible only to you, and users sign in with passwordless email links for added account security.

Answer: Accountail is designed to generate highly useful drafts based on the data you provide, but accounting and auditing work still requires professional review. Users should verify all numbers, assumptions, conclusions, and wording before relying on a report. Reports are available in editable formats such as .docx so professionals can review and refine them before final use.

Answer: Confirm the file is one of Accountail's supported formats, under 50MB, and not empty or password-protected. If the upload still fails, try exporting the source data again, reducing the file size, or uploading a cleaner source file such as CSV, XLSX, DOCX, PDF, TXT, or JSON.

Answer: Accountail converts uploaded source files into readable text that can be used for report generation and file previews. This helps Accountail work with many common accounting file formats while keeping the report generation process tied to the files you actually uploaded.

Answer: Reduce the amount of source data and try again. For example, upload only the period, entity, ledger accounts, schedules, statements, or tabs that are needed for the selected report type. Removing duplicate pages, unused worksheets, screenshots, and irrelevant transactions can help Accountail generate the report successfully.

Answer: Uploaded files and generated reports are associated with the account that created them. They are not public pages. Team members may share a plan owner's report allowance, but each user should sign in with their own email address and only use Accountail with data they are authorized to upload and analyze.

Answer: Go to Settings and choose Delete Your Account. For security, Accountail may require you to sign in again shortly before deletion. Account deletion is permanent, removes your Accountail account data, and also attempts to cancel an active subscription for the deleted account.

Billing, Support & Troubleshooting FAQs

Answer: Accountail offers monthly plans based on report allowance: 20 accounting reports per month for $99.99 USD, 50 accounting reports per month for $224.99 USD, and 100 accounting reports per month for $399.99 USD. Plan availability, pricing, promotions, and taxes may be shown during Stripe checkout.

Answer: If your monthly report allowance is used up, Accountail will stop new report generation until your allowance renews or your plan changes. Settings shows your reports left this month and your auto-renewal date.

Answer: The plan owner can open billing from Settings to manage the Stripe billing portal. Team members who share another user's plan cannot manage that plan's billing. You can also cancel from Settings if you are the plan owner.

Answer: Accountail's Terms of Service state that payments are final and Accountail does not offer refunds. Please review the plan allowance, price, and billing details before confirming payment in Stripe checkout.

Answer: No. Accountail uses Stripe for payment processing and does not receive or store your full card number. Stripe may provide Accountail with limited billing details such as a customer token, card type, expiration date, and the last four digits.

Answer: Use the messenger bubble on the Support page or inside the Accountail web app on desktop browser views. Accountail is normally available on weekdays between 9am and 6pm Pacific Time. For report issues, include the report title, report type, report ID or URL, the source file type, and the exact error or behavior you saw.

Answer: Do not send passwords, full payment card numbers, authentication codes, or unnecessary sensitive client information in support chat. For most support requests, Accountail only needs your sign-in email, the report type, the report title or ID, the file format involved, and a short description of the issue.

Answer: Try again after checking that required files finished uploading, the source data is relevant to the selected report type, and the file text content is not too large. If generation fails before completion, Accountail attempts to release the reserved report usage. Contact support if your quota looks wrong after a failed generation.
